2025 Review
Family
This year, I was able to spend a lot of relaxing time with my wife.
It reminded me once again how nice it is to walk through life together.
We started dating eight years before we got married, and we have now been married for twelve years.
That means we have already spent close to twenty years together as life partners.
I was also finally able to complete the scattering of my late mother’s ashes, which had been pending since the year before last. I feel that this helped me bring a bit more emotional closure.
Work & Career
I have now been working on the same service at my current company for seven years.
From this fiscal year, I started going to the office once a week. This rhythm feels just right, allowing me to enjoy communication with my teammates while still keeping a good working pace.
The company also announced a new “Next Career Support Program.”
I turned 44 this year and was surprised to learn that I am now eligible for the program.
It became a trigger for me to start thinking:
How do I want to shape my next career chapter?

Technology
Generative AI coding agents made a huge leap forward this year.
I sometimes feel like I am desperately trying to keep up,
but having AI help with implementation has given me more time to think about a more important question:
Why are we building this in the first place?
That shift has been a very positive change for me.
Thank you, Claude Code!
Puzzle Solving
I continued to enjoy puzzle-solving this year, mainly focusing on puzzle trails and city exploration–style mysteries.
Here are three that I especially enjoyed:
- 下北ブチアゲ!

https://huntersvillage.jp/quest/meiji2025 - 野外美術館謎「時紡ぐミュージアムの約束」

The mystery event at the Sapporo Art Park Outdoor Museum was a complete clear again this year!
Since first joining the series in 2019 with “The Hidden Garden Illusion,” I have continued the streak of full completion — which was a relief and a joy.
I also joined the company puzzle club and was able to attend a hall-style live puzzle event for the first time in a while. That was a great memory too.
Music
I have been playing the double bass as a hobby since my university days.
This year, I had the chance to perform again at an ensemble event with friends from my university orchestra days.

It made me really happy to restart musical activities that I had paused during the pandemic.
Playing together and blending sound with friends is still the best feeling.
Blog
I also started a blog this year.
Surprisingly, I am really enjoying putting my thoughts and experiences into words and leaving them behind as a record.
Reflection
Looking back, the word that best describes 2025 for me is:
“Restart.”
Things that had paused slowly began moving again.
It felt like a year of gently picking up momentum.
Here’s to continuing forward next year as well!
